Describe the Resource:
These are Arabic letter flashcards that can be used for games in the classroom for both Islamic Studies (Year 1) and for teaching the Safar Qāʿidah.
For Year 1 – These can use them as visuals when practicing pronunciation. The same can be done for Qāʿidah level 1 or as a revision activity.
As a group or game activity:
1) Mix the cards up into a container.
2) Two students or more can play the game. They each have to pick a card up. Whenever a student picks a card, they have to recognise and pronounce the letter correctly.
3) Students keep the correct letters and put the incorrect letters in a separate container. The student with the most correct letters wins.
4) The teacher can then use the letters that they failed to recognise or pronounce correctly as an indicator of where the student needs to focus their learning.
