Describe the Resource:
Innovative and fun!
Cut out the Arabic words from Surah Fatihah.
Stick them on the board in random places.
The first student puts a dot next to the first word in the surah then taking it in turns, students draw lines to link the words in order. This creates a maze effect.
This game works well using a stop watch and in silence so that students can think. Students are very much motivated to work as a class to beat their previous best time.
If a student makes an incorrect connection the next student uses their turn to rub it out.
The game can be played with all the other du’as/surahs in the Arabic book.
Why not print two sets of the words and stick them on two boards. Split the class into two groups and make it into a competition! You can create your own point system.
There are some extra words included in the sheet (not part of surah fatihah) to test students!
This activity is great for memorising the words and requires students to look at the Arabic words in more detail than they usually would.
