Qur’an
Students need to have been taught the rules before hand in order to properly participate
Describe the Resource:
Step One: Select two teams small from the class
Step Two: Position the selected teams in the middle of the class, facing in opposition.
Step Three: The rest of the class should sit on either side of them as the audience.
The general premise of the game is that every time the teacher read’s ikhfaa, idhaar or idgham, someone from the two teams will put their hands up and relate where the rule occurred and what was the corresponding letter.
Rules
– The first hand up gets to answer and potentially win the points for that group
– If the answer is wrong then the group loses a point (this acts as a deterrent from the students putting their hands up without thinking
– *Trick round: Occasionally the teacher can deliberately read a rule incorrectly for e.g. reading idhaar with ghunnah.
– On this occasion two points are on offer however if the students do not realise then they each lose two points.
This game can also be done in a tournament format where groups compete In quarter finals, semi finals, and finals.
